Teacher Busted For Oxycodone Trafficking
South Florida news website
www.nbcmiami.com reports that a Florida kindergarten teacher and her boyfriend ran a drug-trafficking and counterfeiting operation out of their apartment.
The couple's apartment was searched by police officers. According to reports, a
search turned up a large amount of the prescription painkiller
OxyContin (oxycodone). Reports did not indicate how much oxycodone was discovered. However, it is alleged that the weight is sufficient to constitute
trafficking.
Police additionally found counterfeit bills, instruments used to produce the counterfeit money including computers, as well as
drug paraphernalia.
Trafficking in oxycodone is a first-degree felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
Mandatory minimum sentencing can range from 3 to 25 years, depending on the weight.
