BSO Looking For Car Burglary Suspects In Weston
The Broward Sheriff’s Office suspects a rash of vehicle burglaries in three Weston neighborhoods earlier this month can be traced to a pair of teenagers.
In Florida, a vehicle burglary is known as burglary of an unoccupied conveyance. It is a 3rd degree felony, although other theft and vandalism-related charges are usually filed along with it.
On Tuesday, BSO released surveillance videos of the juveniles allegedly committing the crimes.
The car burglaries occurred June sixth through the ninth. The pair targeted unlocked vehicles to steal electronics, cash and anything else of value in the subdivisions of the Islands, Executive II and Tequesta. Detectives believe they may be responsible for other vehicle burglaries.
If the accused teens are under 18, their cases will be dealt with in juvenile court. If they are 18 or over, they will face felony charges as adults.
