Miami Gardens Woman Shoots At Alleged Burglars
According to
Local 10, two people were taken into custody Wednesday morning after a break-in at a Miami Gardens home.
Miami Gardens police said the incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. at a home near Northwest 12th Place and 202nd Street.
Eyewitnesses said a woman was inside the home with a baby when she heard someone trying to break in through a back door and took action.
Allegedly, two suspects tried to enter the home. The criminal charge for breaking into a home where residents are present is
burglary of an occupied dwelling. It is a 2nd degree felony in Florida, punishable by 15 years in prison.
According to recent reports, Miami Gardens police confirmed that someone in the house fired shots at the suspects.
The suspects apparently fled after the shots were fired, and officers took both into custody. It is unclear whether either of the men was shot.
