Miami Beach Firefighter Arrested For DUI

A Miami Beach firefighter was arrested and charged with DUI for allegedly driving a city vehicle while impaired and causing an accident.

According to city officials, the off-duty firefighter was in an unmarked city vehicle when he hit a parked car at the intersection of Collins and 11th Street on Miami Beach. Authorities said the accident took place at around 3 a.m., Wednesday. A Miami Beach Police officer then stopped the firefighter a few blocks away from the accident.

The firefighter was arrested and is now facing DUI charges. According to authorities, the firefighter has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, in addition to driving under the influence.

The 34-year-old posted bond and has been released.
