No Bond For Man Accused Of Crashing Into Davie Gas Station

A man who is accused of crashing into gasoline pumps at a Chevron service station while fleeing from police and causing a damaging explosion and fire was ordered on Friday to be held without bond.

Broward Bond Court Judge John "Jay" Hurley ruled that the accused be held for a probation violation from a previous driving under the influence (DUI) charge.

It is alleged that the accused was being pulled over for a tag not registered to his car at about 5:45 p.m. on Thursday near Oakes Road when he fled southbound on State Road 7, according to police.

The accused, driving a white Mustang, had allegedly attempted to cut though the gas station when he lost control of the car and slammed into a fuel pump, police said.

He was charged with fleeing and eluding, driving with an unassigned license plate, and violating his probation.
