Boynton Beach Police Conduct Prescription Drug Trafficking Operation

Aggressive Trial Attorney With a Reputation for Success

The Boynton Beach Police Department is leading a prescription drug trafficking operation, stemming from a six month investigation.

The operation, which includes many law enforcement agencies was taking place this morning. The police command post is at the Intracoastal Park Clubhouse in the 2200 block of North Federal Highway.

Other agencies assisting Boynton Beach police include the Drug Enforcement Administration, Delray Beach Police and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

In the past year, fighting the trafficking of prescription drugs has become the priority of most Miami-Dade County law enforcement agencies. Substances such as Xanax (alprazolam), OxyContin (Oxycodone), and Vicodin (Hydrocodone) carry stiff mandatory minimum sentences for trafficking-level offenses.

Police set up sting operations where they arrest people for buying, selling, and trafficking in prescriptions. Remember - trafficking in Florida is based entirely on the weight of the substance. It does not matter what the accused's intent was. Whether you wanted to sell the pills or keep them for yourself, trafficking is trafficking.

As long as Florida continues to have a reputation of being a "pill mill" state, Florida law enforcement officers will continue to target the buying, selling, possession, and trafficking of prescription drugs.

Don't mess around if charged. Every single drug trafficking offense in the State of Florida carries mandatory prison time.
