Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a Subway restaurant located at 2863 W. Sunrise Boulevard.

Deputies from the Broward Sheriff's Office responded to the call at 10:39 p.m. Wednesday.

Two units from the Lauderhill police department and one BSO deputy were the first to arrive, and found two store employees with gunshot wounds.

Deputies say both victims were alert and stable, despite their injuries.

They were transported to Broward General Medical Center for treatment.

BSO deputies and officers from Lauderhill are actively searching the area near the shooting for possible suspects.

If arrested, these suspects will face a multitude of charges, including attempted armed robbery with a firearm, and attempted felony murder.

Since it is alleged that firearms were used, Florida's 10-20-Life mandatory minimum sentencing will apply, requiring a 25-year mandatory minimum sentence for the alleged shooters because people were seriously injured during the commission of the crime.
