Lauderhill Woman Faces Multiple Counts of Grand Theft

Aggressive Trial Attorney With a Reputation for Success
|

A Lauderhill woman has been arrested and charged with multiple felony counts. The specific allegations are that the woman changed labels on items at retail stores so that expensive items could be sold to her for a lesser price, and then taking those items and re-selling them online.

The accused woman was observed for several months at numerous retail locations, such as Target and Walmart stores. The stores reportedly have the woman on surveillance video switching labels.

The police estimate that the woman was making nearly $30,000 per month by purchasing items inexpensively and then retailing them for much more.

The woman faces counts of grand theft, dealing in stolen property, and organized scheme to defraud.

Since she is not a U.S. citizen, the accused will face deportation if she accepts a plea of guilty or no contest or is convicted at trial for any of these charges as they are considered crimes involving moral turpitude.

When you are arrested, you must consider the immigration consequences of a guilty or no contest plea.

Grand theft, in this case, would be charged as grand theft in the second-degree (a second-degree felony) as the value of the items allegedly stolen is between $20,000 and $100,000.
