A St. Petersberg school teacher has been arrested after allegedly engaging in a "ritual" with students. She is accused of having the students cut and burn their skin in order to expel demons from their bodies.
The teacher was arrested after a student, who allegedly took part in this ritual, notified a friend. The friend told their parents and the authorities were contacted.
Aggravated child abuse can be a second or first-degree felony, depending on the circumstances. A second-degree felony carries a maximum of 15 years in prison. A first-degree felony carries a maximum of 30 years in prison.
