A former U.S. Marine and co-owner of an American Top Team franchise is sitting in the Broward County Jail tonight without a bond after an alleged road rage incident in Coral Springs.

Among the charges against the accused, a Coral Springs resident, are three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, one count of burglary with an assault or battery, one count of armed burglary, and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.

According to the alleged victim, the accused began driving aggressively behind the men after they pulled out of the light. The alleged victim said that when he tried to pull into another lane, the accused pointed a gun and yelled obscenities.

The alleged victim said he pulled over to call police. As the alleged victim was dialing 911, the accused allegedly walked up to the alleged victim's truck window and struck him in the face with a gun. He allegedly struck the passenger with the gun as well.

The charge is a burglary because it is alleged that the accused reached inside of an occupied car to commit a battery and an assault. A car can be treated like a home. If somebody enters your car without your consent with the intent to commit a crime inside, the crime is burglary.

Armed burglary and burglary with an assault or battery are both non-bondable offenses.

If convicted at trial, the accused faces life in prison.
