Fort Lauderdale Police are seeking a hit and run driver after a pedestrian was injured early Sunday morning.

The alleged incident happened around 1:30 a.m. when a black sedan traveling south on Seabreeze Boulevard struck a man.

The 41 year-old Fort Lauderdale man was taken to Broward General Medical Center with injuries that were life threatening, police said.

The driver did not stop in the beach neighborhood and traveled west on Poinsettia Street before a witness lost sight of the car, police said.

The vehicle being sought should have front-end or windshield damage.

LSA (leaving the scene of an accident) causing serious bodily injury is a third-degree felony. If a person dies as a result of an LSA, you can be charged with a first-degree felony.

Most LSA cases will begin as investigations. If you are under investigation for LSA, even a misdemeanor LSA, call an attorney. What you say to police can hurt you. Do not talk to police until you've had an opportunity to consult a criminal defense attorney.
