A Fort Lauderdale man is facing charges of battery on a law enforcement officer (LEO), resisting an officer with violence, and resisting an officer without a violence.

Allegedly, the accused was reported to police by employees at a Food Plus store for trespassing. When Fort Lauderdale Police arrived, the accused allegedly fought with an officer, causing an injury that sent the officer to the hospital.

The accused was arrested. Battery on a law enforcement officer (LEO) and resisting an officer with violence are both third-degree felonies, punishable by up to 5 years in prison each.

Resisting an officer without violence is a first-degree misdemeanor, punishable by up to 364 days in jail.
