The footage reportedly shows three men, one armed with a handgun, approaching the driver and taking the truck.
Armed carjacking with a firearm is a felony punishable by life in prison. All three men, if arrested, can face the charge of armed carjacking, even if only one of the three was actually armed. This is because under the principal theory, all participants in a crime can be charged with the same crime, even if they carried out different roles.
The mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years (under Florida's 10-20-Life law) will only apply to the person who was in actual possession of the firearm. Constructive possession (did not actually possess) of a firearm does not qualify for the mandatory minimum.
