A Miami-Dade County mother is behind bars Monday after, police said, she allegedly tried to sell her 8-month-old son for thousands of dollars.
According to authorities, a 30-year-old mother made arrangements to sell her child to a Monroe County man for $7,000. Police arrested the accused Sunday after someone tipped off the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said the accused never showed up for the alleged sale of her child, but when officers went to her home to check on the well-being of the child, they said they had enough evidence to arrest her and take her son into custody.
Monday morning, Bosque faced a judge in bond court, but her hearing has been reset for Tuesday as the judge sorts through all the charges.
Police said the child is now in the custody of family members.
