A 27 year-old Miami-Dade County man is wanted on charges of grand theft after allegedly snatching two Rolex watches off of a display counter at a jewelry store in Surfside.

Surveillance video captured the incident. A man entered the store and asked to see two gold watches. The total value of both watches was $56,000. A sales clerk removed the two watches from the display and placed them on the counter. The suspect then grabbed the watches and sprinted for the door. A getaway car was waiting for him outside of the store.

The video is very clear, and at one point you can see the suspect’s face without obstruction. Based on the video, police believe that they know the identity of the suspect.

The suspect will likely face grand theft in the second degree charges. Grand theft in the second degree is a second-degree felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

This charge is because the value of the property ranges from $20,000 to $100,000.
