After much speculation, it appears that Broward County may be implementing a DUI Diversion program, much like the "Back On Track" Programs that we have in Miami-Dade County and Monroe County. Furthermore, Palm Beach and Orange Counties also have DUI diversion programs (they have had them for some time now).
The details are not finalized, but it looks like we will know just what this program entails within a matter of days. Most importantly, we will shortly find out who is eligible for this program.
DUI diversion permits first-time DUI offenders to either have their cases dismissed entirely or to have their DUI charges reduced to reckless driving. This permits eligible individuals to seal the record.
