The Broward Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who was allegedly caught on surveillance video trying to snatch money out of the register at a Cooper City Subway.

According to Local 10, a man came into the store and ordered a sandwich. When the register drawer was opened by the cashier, the suspect allegedly reached over the counter and into the cash register. The suspect allegedly struggled with the cashier, pushing her away as he grabbed the money and ran out of the store.

During the struggle, a bandage that the suspect was wearing came off. The cashier got the suspect's blood on her hands. It is unclear at this point whether the police have tested that blood for possible DNA hits. A DNA hit exists if the DNA in the blood matches DNA taken from anybody who has ever been arrested before. In most criminal cases, a buccal (oral) swab is taken upon conviction. This DNA is stored in a nationwide database.

The suspect will likely be charged with strong-arm robbery if arrested because the accusation is that he attempted, by force or threat of force, to take the property of another.

Strong-arm robbery is a second-degree felony, punishable by a maximum of up to 15 years in prison.
