Man Suspected In Over 20 Deerfield Beach Burglaries

A 43-year old Deerfield Beach man is accused of breaking into over 20 of his neighbors' homes and stealing valuable items.

The accused was arrested after BSO detectives found property that belonged to the alleged victims in his mother's home.

Police suspect that the accused broke into over 20 homes in and around his neighborhood.

It is estimated that over 800 items were taken during these 20 burglaries.

The accused allegedly sold the stolen property at pawn shops. He is also reportedly cooperating with BSO detectives and has admitted to his involvement in these crimes.

The accused is also on probation so the new arrest constitutes a probation violation.

If charged with all crimes, he faces multiple counts of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, multiple counts of grand theft, multiple counts of dealing in stolen property, and multiple counts of false verification to a pawnbroker.

Under the Florida Criminal Punishment Code's sentencing guidelines, a single count of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling scores 21 months state prison at the bottom of the guidelines. The maximum for one count of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling is 15 years in prison.

Factor in all counts for all crimes and the accused will be facing well over 100 years in state prison.
