Miramar Police Officer Arrested For Petit Theft

A Miramar Police officer is facing charges of petit theft and official misconduct charges after he allegedly stole two bottles of liquor while investigating a shoplifting allegation.

The 34 year-old veteran of the Miramar Police Department has been suspended pending the outcome of the case.

It is reported that while conducting a retail theft investigation, the officer located two bottles of alcohol that had supposedly been stolen.

The officer is accused of taking the liquor for himself while submitting a police report to his department stating that the bottles were returned to the investigation subjects.

The officer is charged with petit theft, falsifying records, and official misconduct.

If convicted, the officer faces the loss of his law enforcement credentials.
